GOING DEEPER is a programme designed to help us look in greater depth at some aspects of discipleship, through monthly group meetings.

Over the six months from February to July 2011, the following groups will be meeting:

Standing in the gap

A group for those who want to get stuck into praying, for the life of the church and the needs of the world.

Leader: Lea Lawton

Listening to God

We believe in a God who speaks, and yet it can sometimes be difficult to hear His voice above the ‘noise’ of modern life. This practical and creative group will explore some of the ways in which God speaks, in a setting which is informal, relaxed and comfortable.

Introduction to the Old Testament

Piecing together the various elements of the Old Testament and seeing how it all fits, as the story of God’s dealings with his people Israel.

Leader: Rob Trickey

Just People?

The Just People? six-week interactive course brings together down-to-earth theology, reflection, inspiration and experience with practical exercises. It will help in grappling with issues of justice and poverty and think practically about how to respond effectively as an integral part of our mission. (More information here)

How to read the Bible

The Bible contains many different types of material, and can be approached in various. This group will aim to give us more of a ‘handle’ on the Bible, so that we can understand it better and hear from God through its pages.

Leader: Rob Trickey

The programme begins w/c 7 February.
