who we are
Hay Hill Baptist Church is a community of around 100 Christians who share a common faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to follow his pattern for life, as revealed in the Bible.
Our church is fairly young (mainly under 40s), informal and friendly. We pride ourselves on the warm welcome we give to everyone.
what we believe
We believe that God is good, holy and perfect and has created us for a purpose - to reach our full potential in life through relationship with him. This relationship is damaged by our imperfect human nature.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, lived as a man on earth, was executed by crucifixion and was subsequently resurrected from death. Although perfect and innocent of any crime, Jesus chose to die in order to demonstrate God's love for us - his death was a sacrifice that salvages our relationship with God. We believe that following Jesus Christ is the one and only route to God.
We believe that God's Holy Spirit empowers us to live our lives as God intended. With God's help we seek to love and care for each other with honesty and compassion.
God's love is for everyone, and therefore our church community welcomes everyone regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey.

Our understanding of our purpose is expressed in "The Dream".
God has called us together.
Called us to be a community – a group of people who share their lives, and especially their faith in Jesus, with one another.

A community which finds its place and its ministry within the whole people of God, the church, and honours every expression of the kingdom of God in the city of Bath and beyond.
This is our calling – this is what we can become - and to this we give our lives.
Hay Hill Baptist Church is affiliated to the Baptist Union of Great Britain and the Evangelical Alliance. We are also a member of the UK Willow Creek Association.
